In the work of painter Julie Kopová, Purgatory represents a journey through her inner landscape, closely intertwined with philosophy and musical rhythm. Her paintings are characterised by gestural brushstrokes and a strong sense of rhythm, through which she explores the depths of the human psyche. We descend into darkness, to the depths of the oceans, into the Earth's interior, into the human subconscious, where, however, a new, as yet undiscovered source of light may lie deep within.
